Dr. Melissa Brooks
Dr. Brooks has had the opportunity to live and travel around the world (85 Moves). She has been teaching for 20+ years. She is an active-duty military spouse. She has a diverse background in education, healthcare, construction, and retail industries, having worked in various roles such as human resources, recruitment, ad

Dr. Brooks has had the opportunity to live and travel around the world (85 Moves). She has been teaching for 20+ years. She is an active-duty military spouse. She has a diverse background in education, healthcare, construction, and retail industries, having worked in various roles such as human resources, recruitment, administration, marketing, sales, advising, and as a professor. She has a passion for learning, conducting research, and mentoring. Dr. Brooks earned her DBA with a concentration in Human Resources from National University, an MPA, and an MHRM from DeVry University, a BSW, and a Bachelor’s of Sociology with a minor in Politics, Economy, and Society from St. Cloud State University. She is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security and Emergency Management from the University of Central Florida.
She has taken courses in Teaching with AI online and has taught courses on how to use AI in the Classroom, teaching students and faculty how to use AI. She has presented a poster at the Teaching with AI Conference in 2025 and will be a reviewer at the Teaching with AI Conference in Orlando, 2026.
Recently, Dr. Brooks attended the NACCE conference, presenting on the use of AI in Strive Courses and a Mentorship Program (Epixego) that utilizes AI to match students with peers for mentorship and social capital building. She currently serves on the FALCON committee in Florida, the HC AI subcommittee, and has created an AI literacy day for students, faculty, and the community in November. She has served as a panelist for NACCE’s Master Class: AI for Faculty -A 3-Part Professional Development Series focused on AI for Faculty. She has also been a panelist for the Global IEEE Young Professionals event titled “The AI-Ready Mindset: How to Thrive, Not Just Survive.” She was selected to attend the AI in Disaster Management Institute hosted by UCF and Swinburne University of Australia. She published a textbook using AI for students in her Management of Entrepreneurship course AI-driven Entrepreneurial Management:
